Source and methodology

The ranking framework and associated metrics presented on this page were developed as part of a doctoral research study titled Academic Capacity Variables as Predictors of Research Publication in Mainstream Journals among University Lecturers in South-South Nigeria. The study was conducted by Owan, Valentine Joseph in the Department of Educational Psychology, University of Calabar, Nigeria, and submitted to the College of Postgraduate Studies in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the award of the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Research, Measurement and Evaluation, March 2026.

About the metric pages

The ranking framework includes eight university-level indicators and three block-level indicators. Each metric page gives a clear explanation of what the measure means, how it is calculated, why it is useful, its main strengths and limitations, and the ranking table generated from the workbook.
